ALDO PEREZ OF CLIFFSIDE PARK AND WILLIAM PEREZ OF SECAUCUS CHARGED WITH DRUG-RELATED OFFENSES

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrests of Aldo PEREZ (DOB: 8/27/1989; single; unemployed) of 251 Palisade Avenue, Apt. #1, Cliffside Park, New Jersey and William PEREZ (DOB: 6/4/1987; single; unemployed) of 777 10th Street, Apt. 113, Secaucus, New Jersey on charges of Possession and Possession With Intent To distribute Marijuana, and Hash Oil, as well as Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Gaito, and the United States Postal Inspection Service under the direction of Inspector in Charge James Buthorn.

Pursuant to a narcotic investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Cliffside Park Police Department, and the United States Postal Inspection Service, it was learned that Aldo PEREZ and his brother William PEREZ were involved in receiving controlled dangerous substances via the mail stream. On October 24, 2018, Aldo PEREZ retrieved an incoming parcel from the Cliffside Park Post Office containing controlled dangerous substances and was then arrested without incident. At the time of his arrest, Aldo PEREZ possessed one Hash Oil vaporizer cartridge on his person. Inside of the parcel was approximately five pounds of Marijuana and fifty pre-rolled Marijuana and Kief cigars. A search at Aldo PEREZ’s residence revealed additional Marijuana, five Hash Oil vaporizer cartridges, and paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled dangerous substances.

Also on October 24, 2018, law enforcement officers made contact with William PEREZ in Cliffside Park. PEREZ was in possession of a small amount of Marijuana and was arrested without incident. A search of William PEREZ’s residence yielded approximately three pounds of Marijuana, twenty hash oil vaporizer cartridges, and paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled dangerous substances.

Aldo PEREZ was charged with one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in an amount greater than five pounds but less than twenty five pounds, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B10(B), a 2nd degree crime; one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Hash Oil, in an amount greater than five grams but less than one pound, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B11, a 3rd degree crime; one count of Possessing Drug Paraphernalia Associated With The Distribution Of Controlled Dangerous Substances, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:36-3, a 4th degree crime; one count of Possession Of Marijuana under fifty grams, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(4), a disorderly persons offense; and one count of Possession Of A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Hash Oil, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(4), a disorderly persons offense. Aldo PEREZ was released on his own recognizance pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

William PEREZ was charged with one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in an amount greater than one ounce but less than five pounds, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B11, a 3rd degree crime; one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Hash Oil, in an amount greater than five grams but less than one pound, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B11, a 3rd degree crime; one count of Possessing Drug Paraphernalia Associated With The Distribution Of Controlled Dangerous Substances, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:36-3, a 4th degree crime; and one count of Possession of Marijuana under fifty grams, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10A(4), a disorderly persons offense. William PEREZ was released on his own recognizance pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Acting Prosecutor Calo states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Secaucus Police Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.
