On January 25, 2019, CHOI was arrested in Rochelle Park and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1B(7), a 3rd degree crime, and one count of Unlicensed Practice Of Medicine And Surgery, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-20A, also a 3rd degree crime. He is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

This investigation is ongoing, and any individuals who suffered injury as a result of laser treatment by Young Hwan CHOI are urged to contact the Palisades Park Police Department to report the incident.

Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the Palisades Park Police Department for its assistance with this investigation.
