FROM: ACTING PROSECUTOR DENNIS CALO

DATE: MARCH 14, 2019

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced today the arrests of SAMUEL LYMORE (DOB: 11/12/1979; single; unemployed) of 4112 West 195th Street, Country Club Hills, Illinois, DASHONTI WILEY (DOB: 06/18/1991; single; unemployed) of 218 North Walnut Street, East Orange, New Jersey, MUHTAQIM FARID (DOB: 12/24/1975; single; unemployed) of 50 Columbia Street, Apt. 3, Newark, New Jersey, DUANE HOLMES (DOB 08/09/1971; single; unemployed) of 8127 Bergenline Avenue, Apt. 1, North Bergen, New Jersey, MANUEL DESSUS (DOB: 08/19/1969; married; store owner) of 181 Elm Street, Bogota, New Jersey, AILEEN DESSUS (DOB: 06/21/1980; married; store owner) of 181 Elm Street, Bogota, New Jersey, GREGORY HYMAN (DOB: 08/18/1973; single; Uber driver) of 4 Buro Street, Apt. 2205, Nyack, New York, JENNIFER REYES (DOB: 03/21/1988; single; unemployed) of 143 64th Street, West New York, New Jersey, and IVETTE REYES (DOB: 01/24/1987; single; unemployed, of 143 64th Street, West New York, New Jersey.

These arrests are the result of a six-month investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office ("BCPO") Special Investigations Squad ("SIS") under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

In September 2018, the BCPO/SIS initiated an investigation into a series of commercial burglaries at various cellular telephone and cosmetic stores in Bergen County and throughout the State of New Jersey, which appeared to principally share the same modus operandi. The suspects typically used large tools to force entry through the front door of a business. Once inside, they would remove the merchandize from the shelves and load it into large containers, which they then transported in recently stolen vehicles. The proceeds were brought to an independent source, or "fence," who would then illegally sell the stolen merchandise.

As a result of evidence obtained by law enforcement during this investigation, LYMORE, FARID, WILEY, and HOLMES were identified as primary suspects in twenty commercial burglaries. The investigation also revealed that LYMORE, WILEY, and HOLMES were also involved in commercial burglaries in Union City and South Orange. Manuel DESSUS and his wife, Aileen DESSUS, were identified as the "fences."

On Monday, March 11, 2019, detectives from the BCPO/SIS, along with a task force comprised of local Bergen County law enforcement agencies, executed numerous search warrants in West New York, Bogota, Newark, East Orange, Union City, Fort Lee, and North Bergen. LYMORE, WILEY, FARID, HOLMES, Manuel DESSUS, and Aileen DESSUS were arrested and charged with numerous offenses.

LYMORE, WILEY, FARID, HOLMES, and Manuel DESSUS are in custody at the Bergen County Jail pending their first appearances/detention hearings in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.

Aileen DESSUS was released by the court following her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

Jennifer REYES and Ivette REYES were charged in Hudson County with drug-related offenses and child endangerment.

Gregory HYMAN was served by summons for a drug-related offense and released.

The attached charge sheets provide details of the criminal charges.

This investigation is ongoing.

Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the following law enforcement agencies for their assistance in this investigation: Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, East Rutherford Police Department, Lodi Police Department, Paramus Police Department, Ridgewood Police Department, Tenafly Police Department, Millburn Police Department, Union City Police Department, West New York Police Department Hoboken Police Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Newark Police Department, Paterson Police Department, South Orange Police Department, East Orange Police Department, North Bergen Police Department.
