Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of RODRIGO VILLAGOMEZ (DOB: 12/20/1957; married; laborer) of Teaneck, NJ on charges of Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Contact. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Glenn O’Reilly.
On Monday, July 15, 2019, the Teaneck Police Department received information that approximately two years ago, RODRIGO VILLAGOMEZ sexually assaulted a female individual in Teaneck.
As the result of the investigation by Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Teaneck Police Department, RODRIGO VILLAGOMEZ was arrested in Paramus, NJ on Monday, September 10, 2019 and charged with one count of Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(1), a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a 4th degree crime. RODRIGO VILLAGOMEZ was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing in Hackensack, NJ scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Teaneck Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
