ENRIQUE R. ALVARADO-CHUCAY OF SPRING VALLEY, NY CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ENRIQUE R. ALVARADO-CHUCAY (DOB: 02/20/1997; single; construction worker) of Spring Valley, NY, on one count of Sexual Assault and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-In-Charge Captain Peter Busciglio.

On Sunday, October 6, 2019, the Hackensack Police Department received information that a juvenile had been sexually assaulted by ENRIQUE R. ALVARADO-CHUCAY in Hackensack. The Hackensack Police Department then contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and an investigation was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, on Friday, November 1, 2019, ENRIQUE R. ALVARADO-CHUCAY was arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4), a 2nd degree crime, and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 3rd degree crime. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Hackensack Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
