Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JUAN OSTO- ALVARADO (DOB: 06/24/1983; married; self-employed painter) of 131 Azalea Road, Goose Creek, SC. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Lawrence Suffern.
Earlier this month, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that an individual was trafficking narcotics between South Carolina and New Jersey. On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop in Englewood, NJ that resulted in the seizure of approximately two kilograms of suspected heroin. The vehicle was operated by JUAN OSTO-ALVARADO.
JUAN OSTO-ALVARADO was arrested at the scene and charged with one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute Heroin, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5a(1), a 1st degree crime. He is currently lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on November 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
