Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of VALENTIN CASILLA (DOB: 02/14/1971; single; unemployed) of 17 South 19th Street, Harrisburg, PA on charges of Money Laundering and Hindering Apprehension. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in connection with a narcotics investigation, detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a motor vehicle stop in Fort Lee, NJ on a silver 2007 Jeep Cherokee. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, VALENTIN CASILLA, was placed under arrest after providing detectives with false identification. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed $11,670.00 under the driver’s seat.
VALENTIN CASILLA was charged with one count of Money Laundering, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-25a, a 3rd degree crime; and one count of Hindering Apprehension, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:29-3b(4), a 4th degree crime. VALENTIN CASILLA was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition on an active criminal arrest warrant issued by the Harrisburg, PA Police Department.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
