MALIK S. BELL OF ENGLEWOOD, NJ CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT, ATTEMPTED AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT BY SEXUAL CONTACT, AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MALIK S. BELL (DOB: 10/21/1993; single, unemployed) of Englewood, NJ on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Palisades Park Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain Anthony Muccio.
On November 17, 2019, the Palisades Park Police Department advised the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit of an allegation that MALIK S. BELL engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of thirteen in Palisades Park, NJ. As a result of the investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the Palisades Park Police Department, MALIK S. BELL was arrested on November 20, 2019 in Englewood, NJ. He was charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2(a)1, 1st degree crimes; one count of Attempted Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1/14-2(a)1, a 2nd degree crime; one count of Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A.2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, inviolation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 3rd degree crime. Following a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on November 20, 2019, MALIK S.BELL was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would like to thank the Palisades Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
