Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of CARLOS ARMANDO GUILLEN (also known as: Carlos Geovani Guillen and Geovani Guillen; DOB: 1/6/1993; single; employed as line cook) of 319 White Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey on charges of Possession and Distribution Of Child Pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
On Thursday, January 9, 2020, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of CARLOS A. GUILLEN during the course of an Internet child pornography investigation. The investigation revealed that GUILLEN used the Internet to view, download, and possess approximately 35 digital files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, and also share at least one such video online.
As a result of the investigation, CARLOS A. GUILLEN was arrested on January 9, 2020 and charged with Distribution Of Child Pornography in an amount less than 25 files, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(A)i, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Possession Of Child Pornography in an amount less than 100 files, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(B)iii, a 3rd degree crime. GUILLEN was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Northvale Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
