Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of RALPH RENARD (DOB: 11/04/1998; single; airplane safety worker) of 8259 167th Street, Jamaica, New York on charges of Sexual Assault and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Mahwah Police Department under the direction of Chief Stephen Jaffe.
On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the Mahwah Police Department received information that a juvenile under the age of sixteen had been reported missing and might be in Mahwah, NJ. Mahwah Police located the juvenile in RALPH RENARD’s vehicle. The Mahwah Police Department then contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, and their investigation revealed that RENARD engaged in sexual activity with the juvenile while in his vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, RALPH RENARD was arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 3rd degree crime. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Mahwah Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
