Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of STEVEN CABRERA (DOB: 6/02/1999; single; employed as a store stock person) of 160 Hackensack Street, Apt. 3, Wood-Ridge, NJ. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Wood-Ridge Police Department under the direction of Chief John Korin.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, the Wood-Ridge Police Department received information that STEVEN CABRERA sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13. The Wood-Ridge Police Department then contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and an investigation was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, STEVEN CABRERA was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2A1, a 1st degree crime; one count of Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2B, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child By Sexual Conduct, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(1) A, a 3rd degree crime. He is scheduled for his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ, on Monday, May 18, 2020.
Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Wood-Ridge Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
