MARQUIS HOWARD OF PLEASANTVILLE, NJ CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT BY CONTACT AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of MARQUIS HOWARD (DOB: 06/26/1993; single; unemployed) of 306 West Washington Avenue, Pleasantville, NJ on charges of Sexual Assault By Contact and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Cliffside Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Marc Marano.

On May 12, 2020, the Cliffside Park Police Department received information that MARQUIS HOWARD fondled a juvenile under the age of 13 on the child’s intimate parts more than one time while the child was in his care. After receiving the information, an investigation was initiated by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, MARQUIS HOWARD was charged by the Cliffside Park Police Department with one count each of Sexual Assault By Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2B, a 2nd degree crime; and Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(1), a 2nd degree crime. HOWARD was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Cliffside Park Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
