The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department are investigating a death that occurred at a residential apartment complex on Anderson Avenue on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. At approximately 5:29 p.m., the Fort Lee Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive 7-year-old child. Subsequently, the child was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and ultimately pronounced deceased.

An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Fort Lee Police Department under the direction of Chief Matthew Hintze. No other information is available at this time.
