Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information:

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the New Milford Police Department are investigating two deaths that occurred at a private residence on Myrtle Avenue on Saturday, October 7, 2023. At approximately 4:15 p.m., officers from the New Milford Police Department entered the residence for a welfare check. Responding officers discovered the bodies of one male and one female, who were later pronounced deceased. Their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the New Milford Police Department under the direction of Chief Brian Clancy. No other information is available at this time.
