Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information:

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department are investigating an apparent drowning death that occurred at a private residence on Heidi Lane in Woodcliff Lake on Friday, July 21, 2023. At approximately 5:05 p.m., the Woodcliff Lake Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a possible drowning of a four-year-old child. The child was transported to Valley Hospital and ultimately pronounced deceased.

An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Woodcliff Lake Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Deputy Chief Steven Regula. No other information is available at this time.
