Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces the following information:

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Lodi Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred at 242 Westervelt Place in Lodi on Thursday, May 26, 2022. At approximately 9:32 p.m., the Lodi Police Department received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at that address. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a 44-year-old female victim with stab wounds and a 49-year-old male suspect. The victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased. The suspect was arrested, and charges are pending.   

An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Lodi Police Department under the direction of Chief Donald Scorzetti. No other information is available at this time, but a formal statement will be issued later today.
