Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ADRIAN ANTONIO GUZMAN (DOB: 8/29/1991; single; technician) of Rutherford, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief John R. Russo.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, the Rutherford Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Rutherford Police Department revealed that ADRIAN ANTONIO GUZMAN sexually assaulted the child, who was under the age of 13, in Rutherford, NJ on one occasion.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Thursday, March 2, 2023, ADRIAN ANTONIO GUZMAN was arrested in Paramus, NJ and charged with second-degree aggravated sexual assault by contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1). GUZMAN was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Rutherford Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
