RUTHERFORD, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH DISTRIBUTION AND POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DANIEL R. KOYE (DOB: 9/25/1982; single; hairdresser) of 64 Ettrick Terrace, Apartment B-4, Rutherford, NJ on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On Thursday, January 26, 2023, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of DANIEL R. KOYE during the course of an Internet child sexual abuse investigation. The investigation revealed that KOYE used the Internet to view, download, possess, and distribute over 450 files depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children.
As a result of the investigation, KOYE was arrested on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(a); and third-degree possession of child pornography, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(b)5(b). KOYE was remanded to the Clayton County (GA) Jail pending extradition proceedings.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutor Musella thanks the Rutherford Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and Customs and Border Protection for their assistance, as well as the Paramus and Lyndhurst Police Departments and the Bergen and Morris County Sheriff’s Offices which participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
