Press Releases << SADDLE BROOK, NJ WOMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT

For Immediate Release:

November 8, 2023

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of THERESA A. GREMILLOT (DOB: 11/29/1965; married; unemployed) of 140 Evans Place, Saddle Brook, NJ on a charge of theft.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

In July 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit received information pertaining to a theft of funds from a local worker’s union based in Bergen County.  An investigation revealed that between January 1, 2019 and July 1, 2023, the union’s office manager, THERESA GREMILLOT, conducted approximately 3,000 unauthorized debits from the union’s operating accounts for her own personal gain.  The total diversion of funds exceeds $1.7 million.

On November 8, 2023, THERESA GREMILLOT was charged with second-degree theft, N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3(a).  GREMILLOT was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending her first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation, and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  He would like to thank the Lodi Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
