“Regarding Duty to Warn under the Mental Health Professionals’ Duty to Warn ACT” This Directive requires mental health professionals to notify local law enforcement when a patient has communicated a threat of imminent, serious physical violence or whenever a reasonable mental health practitioner believes that a patient intends to carry out an act of imminent, serious physical violence.
