TAQUAN JACKSON OF PASSAIC, NJ CHARGED WITH AGGRAVATED SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TAQUAN JACKSON (DOB: 12/21/1987; single; fire prevention installer) of 21 Monroe Street, Passaic, NJ on sex assault and child endangerment charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Garfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Raymond Kovach.
On Sunday, July 25, 2021, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit received information from the Garfield Police Department regarding the sexual assault of a female in Garfield, New Jersey. An investigation revealed that TAQUAN JACKSON had sexually assaulted the minor victim and had left the area.
As a result of the investigation, on Sunday, July 25, 2021, a warrant was issued for the arrest of TAQUAN JACKSON, charging him with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)(a); one count of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1).
On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, JACKSON was apprehended in Atlanta, Georgia and was remanded to the Atlanta, Georgia city jail pending extradition to Bergen County, NJ. His first appearance will be in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would like to thank the Atlanta, Georgia Police Department Fugitive Squad and the Garfield Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
