TARRYTOWN, NY MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT, ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD AND CRIMINAL SEXUAL CONTACT

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of ERIC PALESE (DOB: 6/28/1995, single; warehouse manager) of Tarrytown, NY on charges of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the River Edge Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Walker.
On Monday, March 27, 2023, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information through the BCPO’s Cyber Tip line regarding an alleged sexual assault of a child. The caller reported that the suspect contacted the child via social media and sexually assaulted the victim in River Edge, NJ. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the River Edge Police Department revealed that ERIC PALESE sexually assaulted the child, who was under the age of 16 at the time, in River Edge, NJ on more than one occasion.
As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, ERIC PALESE was arrested in Tarrytown, NY and charged with 6 counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); 2 counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a; and 2 counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b. PALESE was remanded to the Westchester County Jail pending his extradition to Bergen County.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
