Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TERRELL STANBACK (DOB: 8/06/1982; single; gym owner) of 79 Garfield Place, Brooklyn, New York on charges of terroristic threats, cyber harassment, and stalking. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit received information about a victim who resides in Bergen County, NJ who received a pattern of more than 30 threatening and alarming text messages that were sent from various anonymous phone numbers and multiple anonymous social media accounts over a period of ten months. The investigation revealed that STANBACK utilized the Internet to create the alarming and harassing messages, which were designed to appear as if the sender was someone else, and included one or more death threats.

As a result of the investigation, Terrell STANBACK was arrested on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Paramus, NJ and charged with one count each of third-degree terroristic threats, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3b; fourth-degree cyber harassment, N.J.S.A. 2C:33-4.1(1); and fourth-degree stalking, N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10b. STANBACK is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Lyndhurst Police Department, which participates in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
