Press Releases << TEXAS MAN CHARGED WITH BEING A FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION IN BERGEN COUNTY, NJ

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW (DOB: 10/15/1966; single; unemployed) of 5500 Crestwood Drive, Prosper, TX on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.  The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

On August 26, 2022, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a traffic stop at the entrance to the George Washington Bridge on a vehicle driven by DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW after learning that SHARLOW, a wanted fugitive who was considered armed and dangerous, was traveling through Bergen County on Interstate 95.

DWAYNE KEVIN SHARLOW was charged with being a fugitive from justice, N.J.S.A. 2A:160-10.  He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an extradition hearing.

Prosecutor Mark Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  He would also like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Bergen County Regional SWAT Team, Texas Department of Public Safety, Prosper (Texas) Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation – New Jersey Field Division, and Port Authority Police Department for their assistance in this matter.
