TOMS RIVER, NJ MAN AND SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ MAN CHARGED WITH ROBBERY, CONSPIRACY, AND IMPERSONATING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of ANTHONY NASO (DOB: 7/14/1994; married; employed as a financial advisor) of Seaside Heights, NJ and NICHOLAS POLIMENI (DOB: 10/22/1994; single; employed as a tile worker) of Toms River, NJ on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and impersonating a law enforcement officer. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love, and the East Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief Dennis Rivelli.
During a 1½-year-long investigation by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigation Squad and East Rutherford Police Department, ANTHONY NASO and NICHOLAS POLIMENI were identified as suspects in a robbery which occurred in the borough of East Rutherford on September 11, 2020.
On Tuesday, May 3, 2022, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, East Rutherford Police Department, and the Toms River Police Department arrested POLIMENI without incident at his home in Toms River, NJ.
On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office detectives arrested NASO without incident in Paramus, NJ.
ANTHONY NASO and NICHOLAS POLIMENI were each charged with second-degree robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1a (1); second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery, N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2a (1); and fourth-degree impersonating a law enforcement officer, N.J.S.A. 2C:28-8b.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
