WALDWICK, NJ MAN ARRESTED ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JONAN PASCASIO-ERAZO (DOB: 04/25/1977; single; laborer) of Waldwick, NJ on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual assault by contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and obscenity. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Waldwick Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark Messner.
On Friday, August 4, 2023, the Waldwick Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a child. An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Waldwick Police Department revealed that JONAN PASCASIO-ERAZO sexually assaulted the child in the following towns: Waldwick, Mahwah, and Belmar (Monmouth County, NJ). These crimes occurred between the years of 2012 and 2023.
As a result of the investigation, on Friday, August 4, 2023, JONAN PASCASIO-ERAZO was arrested in Waldwick, NJ and charged with 4 counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(2)(c); 4 counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a1; 4 counts of second-degree sexual assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); 4 counts of second-degree sexual assault by contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b; 4 counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and third-degree obscenity for persons under the age of 18, N.J.S.A. 2C:34-3b(2). PASCASIO-ERAZO was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Waldwick Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
